Description
Inspiration for this design is derived from the sense of order that results from stacked stones that highlight the natural contours of a rural landscape. This shawl includes three easy to remember stitch patterns. The orderly eyelet edge borders a gently curved garter stitch main section. This “field” of garter fabric is further contained by a smooth I-cord edge. Knit in rows from tip to tip, increases and decreases not only shape the main body but also create a subtle scalloped edge in the eyelet section. This method of construction allows for yarn weight choice flexibility. Upon reaching the middle, use 51% of the yarn to complete the entire decrease section. Also choose a needle size that is large enough to achieve open eyelets and a drapey fabric.
Dimension (after blocking): approximately 13″ at center and 63″ from tip to tip.
Yarn: approximately 430 yards fingering weight.
