Check Mate Fingerless Mitts

Description

These fingerless mitts are the ideal quick knit for the cold hands on your gift list.  Design elements include two different rib stitch patterns, slip-stitch color work for hand section, and a striped thumb gusset.  These slip stitches not only add density to the fabric but also result in a “checkered” motif that is perfect for a unisex project.  Knit in the round, instructions include three sizes.

Dimension:  approximately 8.25 (8.5, 8.75) inches long and 7 (7.5, 8.75) inches palm circumference.

Yarn (for 1 pair men’s large):  approximately 165 yards main color and 40 yards contrasting color fingering weight.
